Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez's Arena Date: How Much Did It Cost?

A regular guy would have dropped serious coin to rent out the Staples Center for a romantic night out.

Membership has its privileges, and when the club you're in is the elite pop star society, there isn't much you can't get your hands on. That's why a teenager like Justin Bieber was able to swing the swankiest surprise date of all time with his squeeze Selena Gomez on Friday night when he treated her to dinner and a movie at the Staples Center.

Now, before you get any ideas. The 20,000-seat home of the Los Angeles Lakers (and countless major concerts) is not available to just any Joe Schmo. No, Bieber reportedly got the keys to the palace for free because he's sold the joint out three times and owner AEG Live figured they'd throw him a bone. Which got us thinking: What would it cost to treat your sweetie to a Bieber-esque night of steak and "Titanic"?

Check out photos of Justin and Selena.

As you might imagine, the powers-that-be at Staples weren't really willing to spill the beans, but we crunched some numbers on our own and here's what we were able to figure:

$475,000: That's how much it would cost you to buy a high-end VIP luxury suite for 14 at the Staples Center, which would get you about 2,500 tickets a year to Lakers, Clippers and Sparks basketball games; L.A. Kings hockey games; concerts; lectures; X Games; and wrestling matches. Given that the venue holds 20,000, we can only imagine a one-night rental would run you well into the six figures.

$200-plus: Bieber ordered steaks and pasta from the exclusive members-only Lexus Club at Staples, a 130-capacity high-end dining area where even the buffet will run you $57.

Priceless: The lucky couple reportedly watched "Titanic" on their date. Now, most men would try to save a few bucks and rent the regular DVD, but given JB's clear baller tendencies, is it safe to assume he called James Cameron and finagled an early copy of the 3-D anniversary Blu-ray edition that is due out in April?

$299 to $1,199: The price of renting an inflatable, 32- to 40-foot portable movie screen from FunFlicks.com for a special event. That is, assuming the Biebs did not make Gomez crane her neck and watch the whole movie on the Center's Jumbotron.

194: That's how many minutes "Titanic" would run if JB didn't have a remote that would allow him and Selena to skip some of the hours of extras.

2:30 a.m.: That's about how late into the morning the couple would have had to stay at Staples in order to watch all of "Titanic," assuming they started it as soon as they arrived at 11 p.m. and had it running during their meal.

$300,000: The amount Bieber pulls in nightly at each one of his concerts.

$53 million: That's how much Bieber banked in 2010. In other words, don't sweat it: He can afford this kind of date every night of the year if he wants to.

What do you think of Justin's date idea for Selena? Tell us in the comments!

Beyonce Shows Baby Bump in 'Countdown' Music Video

Beyonce Shows Baby Bump in 'Countdown' Music Video

Beyonce and Jay-Z's unborn baby is now a music-video veteran. Beyonce, 30, has released the music video "Countdown," which shows a much more rounded Beyonce than the one we saw at the MTV Video Music Awards. Watch below!

"I'm trying to make us three / From that two / He's still the one," sings Beyonce as she flashes a side video of her very rotund stomach at the camera.

This is Beyonce and Jay-Z's first pregnancy. Ever since Beyonce made the big reveal in August, she has been saying in interviews that she plans on embracing her curves. By flaunting her baby body in the "Countdown" video, she certainly is showing that she's proud of the way pregnancy is changing her body.

"I think a woman's curves when she is pregnant are so beautiful," she told the Associated Press earlier this year. "I don't want to get matronly, and I still find things that are sensual and feminine and funky. I have been mixing different textures and suit jackets and blazers. I don't want to be in the same dress every day."

Clad in a figure-hugging black ensemble in "Countdown," the pop star sure does keep things sexy. But what's even sexier than her look is that the song she's singing conveys how happy she is with husband Jay-Z. With lyrics like "Oh, killing me softly and I'm still falling/Still the one I need, I will always be with you," Beyonce shows off to the world that their love is stronger than ever. For his part, Jay-Z has been ecstatic about the upcoming baby in interviews.

"I'm excited! I think that is pretty easy," he told E! Online. "Someone emailed me this morning and said, 'Some people climb the ladder and grab the ladder. And some people pull more people up the ladder. And you are a person who pulls more people up the ladder.' I was very humbled by that."

The list of nominees runs from Justin Bieber to Courtney Love, Britney Spears, Scissor Sisters, Katy Perry, Bjork, Nirvana, Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg, and that can only mean one thing: It must be time for the O Music Awards again.

When MTV launched its first-annual digital music celebration earlier this year, we promised that it would be like no other awards show, with trophies handed out before, after and during the show, as well as throughout the year.

Sticking to that plan, the O Awards will return for a second round on October 31, with some of the new categories coming courtesy of user suggestions.

Among the five new user-generated categories are "Oops! I Did It Online," in which over-sharing celebs such as Sinead O'Connor and T-Pain will face off against the Game and Courtney Love; and Best Artist with a Cameraphone, which pits Demi Lovato against Bieber, Young the Giant, Katy Perry, the Deftones and Shiny Toy Guns. The other new categories include Best Web Born Artist (MNDR, Odd Future, the Weeknd), Best Vintage Viral Video (Metallica, Nirvana, Notorious B.I.G., O'Connor) and Best Lyrics Video (Perry, Joe Jonas, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Perri).

Among Gaga's two nominations are Fan Army FTW — in which she'll square off with the followers of Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Lovato, ICP, Adam Lambert and Tokio Hotel — and Must Follow Artist on Twitter, in which she faces Cher, Snoop Dogg, Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and Blake Shelton.

The O Music Awards will also honor a number of artists who are really good at this whole online thing, with Bjork, Chris Milk, Girl Talk and the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne vying for the Digital Genius Award.

The other categories include: Best Fan Cover, Hottest Music NILF (think about it), WTF I Love This Award (online craziness), the self-explanatory Too Much Ass for TV award, Most Outrageous Tweet and Best Music Forum. There are also awards coming for Most Innovative Festival, Best Music App, Best Music Hack, Beyond the Blog and Most Addictive Social Music Service, which includes such faves as Spotify, Turntable.fm and Rdio.

The first edition of the awards featured performances by Mumford & Sons, Foster the People, Lupe Fiasco, Matt & Kim and a world record freestyle by Chiddy Bang's Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege

The O Music Award's first-time winners included Gaga (Most Innovative Artist and Must Follow Artist on Twitter), Kanye West (Best Tweet), Tokio Hotel's Aliens (Fan Army FTW), Thirty Seconds to Mars (NSFW Music Video), Aquarium Drunkard (Best Independent Music Blog) and MJJ Fan Community (Best Fan Forum).

The O Music Awards 2 will unfold on Halloween on OMUsicAwards.com, as well as MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com, LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com. Fans can vote for their favorites at OMUsicAwards.com.
