Raven-Symone Isn't Sweating Her Major Weight Loss

Raven-Symone Isn't Sweating Her Major Weight Loss

Raven-Symoné showed off a significantly slimmed-down figure at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday -- but she doesn't think it's such a big deal. The former That's So Raven and The Cosby Show star was always proud of the curvy figure she developed in her teens. Now that she's lost some weight, the young actress finds all the attention a little strange.

"Now I wear bigger clothes because I don't like the way people stare at me," she told People. "I liked it before. Now, you're just looking at me for the wrong reasons."

As for whether she's more comfortable in her new body, Raven-Symone says that's never been a problem.

"I thought I looked fabulous before and nobody else did," she says. "So, whatever."

Among popular tween stars, Raven-Symoné has always seemed unusually poised and self-confident. Unlike, say, Miley Cyrus, who seems to try out a new image every few weeks, Raven always seemed to have her own opinions and a strong sense of self. And the actress has always been outspoken about her inability to maintain the typical "Hollywood" figure. In a 2009 NPR interview, she talked about her choice to accept her body as it is.

"I've definitely had obstacles in my career - my whole entire career - to stay a certain weight, to get smaller than I have been, but I look at my family, I look at where I come from and that's not really in our genes," she explained. "Yes, I go exercise; I eat right; I have a nutritionist -- but I can't fulfill what is quote/unquote 'the beauty number' of what you're supposed to be on the scale. I can't do that. And you know what? I'm sorry if that keeps me from getting jobs, if that keeps me from being in certain clothes. I can't do it. "

But somehow, obviously, Raven-Symoné has now slimmed down to a sample size. She's not saying how she did it, but says that she'd recently gained a lot of weight while stressing over her new ABC Family pilot, The Great State of Georgia, in which she plays a sweet Southern singer/actress trying to make it to Broadway. Interestingly, her starring character is described as "an exuberant curvy performer." If the show gets picked up, will she need to put the pounds back on? Doesn't matter to us -- Raven-Symoné has proved that she's fabulous at any weight.

Hole in Michael Jackson Death Timeline May Be Smoking Gun Against Dr. Conrad Murray

The prosecution commenced outlining its case against Dr. Conrad Murray during his preliminary hearing this week and suffice it to say, they're doing a good job.

From phone records to witnesses, nothing seems to line up well for the doc to beat the rap on involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Today's bombshell could be a smoking gun as far as disproving Murray's version of events that fateful day in June 25. All courtesy of his girlfriend too.

One Bad Doc

PHONING IT IN: Did Dr. Murray dial 911 when he said he did?

A girlfriend of Dr. Conrad Murray at the time of Jackson's death established that he waited around 25 minutes to call for help after noticing a lifeless MJ.

Sade Anding, who was in Houston the day MJ died, says she got a call from Murray at around 12:30 p.m. Phone records show it was actually 11:51 a.m.

That difference is big, because the 911 call wasn't made until 12:21 p.m.

If Murray did indeed realize MJ was in distress at 11:55 a.m., there was a long delay in sounding the alarm. It looks like he did realize it that early, too.

Sade says Murray was asking her how she was doing and she talked about her day. She spoke for a little bit, then realized Murray wasn't on the phone.

Sade then said she heard commotion, as if the phone was in his pocket, and heard "coughing and voices." Sade estimates the call lasted five minutes.

The other fun fact resulting from this? That Murray was likely two-timing Nicole Alvarez, who investigators have said was also his girlfriend at the time!

Murray's defense team is more or less sitting the preliminary hearing out. There's no way a judge will throw the case out, so a jury trial awaits next.

They've elected not to play their hand until then in a bit of a strategic move, letting the prosecution lay out its evidence now virtually unabated.

So far, the evidence has been compelling. Stay tuned.
